Every member of our family loves movies.  We like new age movies, classic oldies but goodies, controversial movies and movies for kids.  You name a movie and someone in this house will like it.

With the cost of theaters today and the extreme repetition of television movie services, it made a lot of sense for us to investigate online DVD rental services.  When it comes to movies, we want the best, most affordable, most convenient service possible.

To us, that meant an online DVD rental service that had a great selection, a proven delivery and return service, a steady stream of new titles along with an easy-to-access informational ordering system.  Frankly, we wanted to know about the films the kids were going to view.

We were surprised how many movie rental services there are.  We actually tried 5 different internet movie services, with mixed results.

We have posted our two favorites here: Netflix and Blockbuster.  These are obviously 2 of the most popular online DVD rental services.

Ultimately, Blockbuster won due to the fact that you can exchange your movies in thier brick-and-mortar store AND get a free movie when you do it.  Nothing can really beat that “browsing in person” expierence when you don’t know what movie you want to watch.
